 Recording Academy adds five new Grammy categories, updates rules for 2026 awards NEW YORK - The Recording Academy is introducing five new categories and making several rule changes for the 2026 Grammy Awards in an effort to reflect the evolving global music landscape. Among the new additions is a best Asian pop music performance category, which will honor performances across genres such as K-pop, J-pop, C-pop and other Asian pop styles, with the award going to performers. A new best traditional pop vocal performance category will recognize artists whose work does not fit within modern pop styles. A best Latin song category will spotlight songwriters for Spanish-language Latin recordings. Changes are also coming to existing categories in R&B and folk music. The academy is adding a best R&B collaboration or duo/group performance category alongside a revised best R&B solo performance award. Suspected vandals flee as Kaduna police impound truck with stolen track railings


Men of the Kaduna State Police Command on Thursday, June 22, busted a gang of rail line vandals. A statement released by the command's spokesperson, ASP Mohammed Jalige, says the police received information that an unspecified number of unknown persons came to Sanzwan in Zonkwa,  Zango Kataf Local Government Area, in an articulated vehicle (DAF) with reg no DAL 172 YL and vandalized about 600 pieces of railway slippers.


‘’On receipt of the information,  Police personnel were quickly mobilized to the scene of the crime. And on sighting the Police officers, the suspects fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle meant to convey the vandalized items.


No arrest was made however, the said vehicle was immediately impounded and the exhibits therein recovered. And on the 25th June, 2023 two additional trucks fully loaded with railway slippers were equally recovered.'' he said


Jalige added that efforts are being made to arrest the fleeing suspects as investigation is in progress.
