MALLAM ISAH GAUSU REFUTES RUMOR GOING AROUND THAT HE DEMANDS LITIGATION FEE FROM A LADY

A Bida-based Islamic scholar Mallam Isah Muhammad Awwal popularly known as Isah Gausu has refuted a baseless rumor going around that he allegedly demanded fifty thousand Naira (N50,000) from a girl selling fried soybeans at Dzukogi Esso Bida.

Mallam Isah revealed to RukotoTV that the rumor is fake news, adding that he has not in any way or at any time demanded any money from any girl or anybody, but only sought legal redress through a law court because of a physical assault on one of his relative last  Monday by some people from the trespasser's house when his relative was returning home.

He went memory lane to reveal that the place in dispute was an entrance of a house "Katamba" which was built and expanded to land belonging to Mallam Isah's parents by the girl's maternal grandfather some years ago.

He said the trespass at that time years back, was because the girl's maternal grandfather built the entrance to face Isah  Gausu's house directly.

He added that the encroachment then led to a dispute, explaining that, interventions, proper investigation, and findings revealed facts that the girl's grandfather's house originally was facing another direction, but the man suddenly changed the Katamba to face Mallam Isah Parent's House without necessary consultation or any compliance with standing due religious diligence or law in the neighborhood.

Mallam Isah added after he applied due diligence and agitated for compliance and won the case, as well as prompt interventions by the trespasser's family, community leaders, and even the office of the Etsu Nupe, the trespasser later apologized for encroachment and entered a written agreement not to encroach further on the said land or extend the Katamba.

Mallam Isah told RukotoTV that if he or his family members did not collect or request any money from the trespasser then despite all obvious evidence, apology, and written agreement tendered by the girl's grandfather, of what essence would he demand any litigation fee now?

Mallam said he had no any business with the girl and would not comment further on the matter which is before a law court.

On the issue that led to the attack on Mallam Isah Gausu's relative, he disclosed to RukotoTV that, last Monday, October 9, 2023, his relation had in the early hours of that day mandated that a dangling banner rope which was hosted on a tree at the Mallam Isah's family house be removed by event organizers because the organizer did not seek a permit.

He said "The organizers removed the rope, but the event organizers later waited till late night hours to attack" his relative while the man was returning home.

Mallam Isah Gausu added that the attackers in their numbers even inflicted injuries on his relative, biting his manhood, thus prompting the family to seek redress at the law court, adding that he is a humbled and law-abiding person and has never taken the law into his hand.

The Islamic scholar, therefore, advised the media "to always uphold professional ethics, by cross-checking information, balance their reports, and avoid dissemination of fake news".
