 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. NCAA To Audit Airports Nationwide

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is to commence the audit of all airports, both local and International in the country.

Director General of NCAA, Captain Musa Nuhu told newsmen in Lagos that it was to ensure they meet the minimum standards to operate in a safe and secured manner.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is currently managing 28 local and five international airports, while some state governments also managed a few.

Captain Nuhu said some of these airports have deficiencies in the areas of safety, security and comfort.

“Any airport that has a deficiency will be grounded to the level of status they are,” he said.

On the Lagos and Abuja international airports yet to be recertified three years after the previous certification expired, Captain Nuhu said FAAN was yet to meet the requirements for recertification due to some challenges.

He disclosed that due to the failure of the recertification of these two airports, Nigeria lost 12 points in the just concluded International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme
(USOAP).

“I will rather we miss those 12 points than to do certification that doesn’t meet the requirements. Then, ICAO will come and say, ‘this certificate you gave is bogus.’ That does more damage to the credibility of the entire system”, Captain Nuhu explained.

On the suspension of the Air Operators Certificate (AOC) of Omni blu airline, he said the process was halted for further investigation to ascertain the shareholders, the current Director General, Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Mr Akin Olateru.

Captain Nuhu added that investigation carried out by the NCAA had revealed that, Mr Olateru had since resigned from the airline and all necessary documents and declaration have proven this.
