 U.S announces visa curbs for some foreign nationals in South Africa Secretary of State Marco Rubio ‌said on Tuesday the U.S. government was announcing a new visa restriction ​policy targeting some foreign nationals ​in South Africa. The policy targets "foreign ⁠nationals who are responsible for, ​or complicit in, the enactment or ​implementation of laws or policies that enable uncompensated land seizures, race-based discrimination, and/or ​the incitement of imminent violence ​against members of minority ethnic or racial ‌groups ⁠in South Africa," Rubio said in a statement. "The South African government has not adequately addressed the ​previously laid ​out ⁠concerns," Rubio said, Reuters reported. Relations between Washington and Pretoria have ​soured since the start of ​Donald ⁠Trump's second term, with the U.S. president criticizing the country ⁠for ​its policies aimed at ​addressing racial inequality.

POLICE PARADES 14 CRIMINAL SUSPECTS IN KWARA 



Kwara state Police Command has arrested fourteen suspects over alleged criminal conspiracy,armed robbery,Cultism,and Culpable homicide.


Parading the suspect at the Police headquarters Ilorin, the state Commisssioner of police , Victor Olaiya said arms and other dangerous weapons were also recovered from the suspects.


According to him, one Opadiran Yetunde of Egbejila area of Ilorin reported that about four men invaded her residence and carted aways valuables worth millions of naira.


He said on investigations into the case led to the recovery of her vehicle in Lagos from one Abdulsalam Nurudeen Saka and Segun.


Mr Olaiya said during interrogation the suspects mentioned three other accomplices who are  at large.


He noted that on 15th of October this year the three suspects were arrested at a police check point on Eiyenkorin/Ogbomoso highway while on transit in a commercial vehicle from Ibadan.


The commissioner said in a similar case a notorious armed robbery suspect Jamiu Idowu Aje and Shittu Sherrif Aka Abule were arrested over case of alleged criminal conspiracy, illegal possession of fire arms and being members of secrete cult.


He said during interrogation the suspects confessed to have participated in series of armed robbery.


Mr Olaiya said  in October this year three suspects were also  arrested over Cultism and a cut to size locally made single barrel gun was recovered .


He said the other suspects were arrested following a complaint by a bread seller at Oja Oba round about of attack by an armed gang.


The commissioner said during the attack the suspects shot two children of the bread seller in which one was injured and the other Mariam Abdullahi Sarumi fifteen years old died on the spot.


He said all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.


Mr Olaiya called on the general public to continue to volunteer information to the police to enable it rid the  state of criminal elements.
