Also, 759 other prominent figures and organisations in Maitama II, Abuja. were also affected by the revocation which was for non-payment of Certificate of Occupancy. Troops neutralise 4 suspected bandits, arrest 120 others in Plateau, Kaduna




Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) Special Military Task Force maintaining peace in Plateau and parts of Bauchi and Kaduna states, have neutralised four suspected bandits.


Capt. James Oya, the Media Officer of the operation made this known in a statement on Monday in Jos.


The troops, he said, also arrested 120 others over various criminal acts within its areas of operation between Oct. 16 and Oct. 22.


Oya said that some of the suspects were arrested for alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling and drug peddling, among other criminal acts.


He explained that other suspects were arrested over illegal possession of arms and ammunitions, adding that it rescued four kidnapped victims during the operation.


“Within the period under review, we neutralised four suspected bandits, arrested 73 suspects with arms and ammunition and 37 others for kidnapping.


“We rescued four kidnapped victims, arrested two suspected cattle rustlers and four suspected drugs peddlers.


“We prevented five attacks on vulnerable communities and promptly responded to 28 distress,” he said.


The troops, he added, also recovered sophisticated weapons from some of the suspects.


He said some suspects who were arrested for car and motorcycle theft have been handed over to police for prosecution.
