 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Jigawa State Remits N100m To NAHCON, Refunds N2m To 2022/2023 Pilgrims

Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has remitted over 100 million naira in hajj fares for some 2024 prospective pilgrims to the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON).

The Executive Secretary of the board Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo revealed this information to reporters in Dutse. 

He clarified that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria had allocated 1,518 hajj seats to the state.

According to him, the board has since distributed the allocation to the 27 local government areas of the state for onward sales to prospective pilgrims. 

He mentioned that some of the intending pilgrims for 2024 had already deposited the sum of 4.5 million naira with the board, and also remitted over 100 million naira to NAHCON while anticipate remitting more hajj fares next week for those who paid through the board. 

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo stated that, as part of the board's commitment to justice and fairness, they have already screened and refunded the sum of over 2 million naira to state pilgrims from 2022/2023 who were unable to sacrifice an animal during the Hajj exercise. 

He said that the Saudi authorities had introduced a new law, effective from the 2024 Hajj operation and according to this law, everything related to Hajj operations, including visas and others, must be completed 50 days before Arafat.

Labbo therefore urged the state intending pilgrims to deposit and complete their hajj fares before end of December this year. 

While commenting on accommodation, the Executive Secretary said the board would secure world-standard accommodations close to the Holy Mosque in Makkah for the state pilgrims. 

This will enable them to perform their ritual exercises with ease during next year's Hajj.

The pilgrims Boss, therefore urged on the state intending pilgrims to continue to cooperate with the board in order to achieve the desired objectives.
