 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. NSCDC EXPRESSES ZERO TOLERANCE FOR VANDALISATION IN ZAMFARA STATE

 


The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, has expressed zero tolerance for vandalisation of any sort in Zamfara State.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Commandant Sani Mustapha made this known when he addressing the Association of Scraped Products Buyers in Zamfara State. 

Sani Mustapha reiterated the resolve of the Corps in the State to deal ruthlessly with any one found vandalizing government and public utilities using the extant laws of the Federation.

He advised the Association to collaborate with the Corps in order to fish out bad eggs and perpetrators of such crimes in their business acrose the State. 

The Commandant also charged the leadership of the Association to desist from buying any goods suspected to have been vandalized or having questionable identity.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Association, Alhaji. Aminu Abbah who led the group, said the Association is ready to redeem the image of the State, as a result, he pledged to collaborate with the Corps to put an end to vandalisation of Government and private properties in the State.

He however extolled the doggedness of the Corps in the fight against insecurity and vandalisation in the state, and promised to support the Corps in the state to root out vandalism.
