 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. Speaker Unveils legislative agenda 

The Speaker of the house of Representatives Dr Tajudeen Abbas, has unveiled the Legislative Agenda of the 10th House of Representatives with a commitment to deploy every legislative instrument towards meeting the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians.
 
Dr Abbas said the legislative agenda titled; ‘The People’s House’ is rooted in the fundamental belief that their primary role as lawmakers is to serve the best interests of their constituents. 
 
He said though the House recognizes the diverse needs and challenges currently facing the nation, it is optimistic that together with President Bola Tinubu, they will proffer long-lasting solutions to set Nigeria on a sure path of development. 
 
Abbas pointed out that the legislative agenda encompasses a range of eight critical issues, designed to provide the necessary legislative support to the eight-point Agenda of the executive. 
 
These he said include strengthening good governance, economic development, improving national security, law reform, economic growth and development, social sector reform and development, inclusion and open parliament, influencing foreign policy and climate change, and environmental sustainability. 
 
The President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio lauded the House for leading the way in unveiling its legislative agenda, promising that the Senate would ensure it does not depart from the agenda of the House.
 
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume said for any democratic system of governance to thrive there must be in existence a focused and forward-looking legislature.
