 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. Sultan Directs Muslims To Look Out For New Moon 


 Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar has directed Muslims in the country to start looking for the new crescent of Jumada Thani 1445 AH, from tomorrow Wednesday the 13 of December 2023, equivalent to Islamic  Calendar 29th of Jumada Ula 1445 AH.


This was made known in a statement signed by the chairman advisory Committee on Religious Affairs Sultanate Council Sokoto ,Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu 


He said if sighted, the information should be reported to the nearest district or village head for onward communication to the Sultan
