 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta.  Wicked: Lagos man Morekeji attacks ex-wife with big stone


Police operatives in Lagos have arrested one Olamilekan Morekeji, for beating and using a big stone to hit his ex-wife, Mary Ololuwa, on the head and face, causing serious injuries to her over their children.

Morekeji reportedly got angry and attacked his ex-wife after he asked him about their children when he accosted her on the road.

The spokesperson for Lagos Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the arrest of Morekeji followed the report of a case of domestic violence at Owode Onirin Police Division on Thursday at about 3.00 p.m. by the victim.

He said the victim was brought to the station by some sympathisers, while she was bleeding from the injuries allegedly inflicted on her face by the suspect.

Hundeyin said the victim told the police at the counter all that happened to her.

According to Hundeyin, the victim said that at about 2.00 p.m. on Thursday, while she was going to her shop around Bako Estate, at Weighbridge Ajegunle, her ex-husband, Olamilekan Morekeji, stopped her and inquired about their children.

“Her response got him angry, resulting in beating her up and using a big stone to hit her on her head and face, causing serious injuries to her.

“She further stated that it took the intervention of some Samaritans to rescue her to the station, where she was immediately rushed to the hospital at Irawo.

“The suspect was arrested and in custody. The victim was photographed and stone used to inflict injuries on the victim recovered as exhibit, ” he said.

Hundeyin said that the case would be transferred to the Gender Unit of the command for further investigation.
