 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  AFCON: Cape Verde become first team to qualify for knockout rounds


Cape Verde have become the first country at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to qualify for the knockout rounds officially.


The small island country defeated Mozambique 3-0 on Friday to confirm their progress in the tournament.


Bebe opened the scoring with a cracking free-kick from over 30 yards in the 32nd minute.


Ryan Mendes and Kevin Pina added more goals in the second half to seal their win.


The result takes Cape Verde up to six points, after they beat Ghana in their opening fixture.


They are the only team in the competition to record two wins so far.
