 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has offered N90.423,000 million scholarship to 221 state’s law graduates attending Nigerian law school across the various campuses in the country. 


While presenting the award cheaque at the banquet hall government house Damaturu, the Governor reassured the law students that the present administration in the state will continue to be consistent in awarding scholarships to qualified Yobe indigenes in tertiary institutions both at home and in foreign institutions across the world. 


He stated that the state has sustained a top spot with an unbeaten record in the Northeast sub-region, and among the states in Nigeria, providing such opportunities to students to pursue professional certificates with ease. 


He noted that his administration places premium priority on quality education from the basic foundation through the tertiary, and professional courses such as Law, Accountancy, and Medical Sciences among others. 


“Today’s ceremony of awarding scholarships to our law students to attend the Nigerian Law School is in continuation of the support this administration has continued to render in the last four years to the law students to obtain their professional certificates. 


“This is in line with our comprehensive and holistic approach to the development of education as a driver of human capital development. 


He enjoined the law students to pursue their professional course with a great sense of commitment and responsibility to justify government investments in them, and to make the state proud. 


“You should strive to be good ambassadors of the state, and remain reference points of academic and moral excellence,” the Governor said.
