 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. The Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway is a multi-state infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity and economic activities across northern and southern Nigeria. More...

Kwara CJ calls for repositioning of nation's judiciary

The Chief Judge of Kwara state and chairman, Judicial Service Commission, Justice Abiodun Adebara, has called for repositioning of the nation's judiciary to continue to serve as a trusted and impartial
pillar of democracy. 

Speaking at the special session of the High Court to commence the 2023/2024 legal year , Justice Adebara said that the justice system has been plagued by a backlog of cases, delays, corruption, and lack of access to justice for many citizens, especially the poor and marginalized". 

According to him in order to reposition the nation's judiciary there is need to acknowledge and address the challenges that have hampered its effectiveness in the past.

Justice Adebara said we are at a critical juncture in the nation's history where the judiciary must reposition itself as a trusted and impartial
pillar of our democracy. 

He said the judiciary is the final arbiter of justice in the society, adding that it is the responsibility of the judiciary to ensure that every
person is treated fairly and equitably under the law".

The CJ, who said that the challenges would be tackled
head-on, also added that judicial officers would work together to find innovative solutions to ensure
that justice is delivered promptly and efficiently to all. 

Justice Adebara pledged to work tirelessly to address these challenges and to restore the faith of the people in the judiciary.
