 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Kwara CJ calls for repositioning of nation's judiciary

The Chief Judge of Kwara state and chairman, Judicial Service Commission, Justice Abiodun Adebara, has called for repositioning of the nation's judiciary to continue to serve as a trusted and impartial
pillar of democracy. 

Speaking at the special session of the High Court to commence the 2023/2024 legal year , Justice Adebara said that the justice system has been plagued by a backlog of cases, delays, corruption, and lack of access to justice for many citizens, especially the poor and marginalized". 

According to him in order to reposition the nation's judiciary there is need to acknowledge and address the challenges that have hampered its effectiveness in the past.

Justice Adebara said we are at a critical juncture in the nation's history where the judiciary must reposition itself as a trusted and impartial
pillar of our democracy. 

He said the judiciary is the final arbiter of justice in the society, adding that it is the responsibility of the judiciary to ensure that every
person is treated fairly and equitably under the law".

The CJ, who said that the challenges would be tackled
head-on, also added that judicial officers would work together to find innovative solutions to ensure
that justice is delivered promptly and efficiently to all. 

Justice Adebara pledged to work tirelessly to address these challenges and to restore the faith of the people in the judiciary.
