 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Kwara CJ calls for repositioning of nation's judiciary

The Chief Judge of Kwara state and chairman, Judicial Service Commission, Justice Abiodun Adebara, has called for repositioning of the nation's judiciary to continue to serve as a trusted and impartial
pillar of democracy. 

Speaking at the special session of the High Court to commence the 2023/2024 legal year , Justice Adebara said that the justice system has been plagued by a backlog of cases, delays, corruption, and lack of access to justice for many citizens, especially the poor and marginalized". 

According to him in order to reposition the nation's judiciary there is need to acknowledge and address the challenges that have hampered its effectiveness in the past.

Justice Adebara said we are at a critical juncture in the nation's history where the judiciary must reposition itself as a trusted and impartial
pillar of our democracy. 

He said the judiciary is the final arbiter of justice in the society, adding that it is the responsibility of the judiciary to ensure that every
person is treated fairly and equitably under the law".

The CJ, who said that the challenges would be tackled
head-on, also added that judicial officers would work together to find innovative solutions to ensure
that justice is delivered promptly and efficiently to all. 

Justice Adebara pledged to work tirelessly to address these challenges and to restore the faith of the people in the judiciary.
