workers in Kwara state, under the aegis of the Joint Kwara Labour Congress, have issued 14 days ultimatum to the state government over alleged refusal to honour/ implement written and gentleman agreement it entered into with the labour.

Addressing  journalists in Ilorin , the labour leaders in the state, led by the state chairman, of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Muritala Saheed, said that the ultimatum to the state government is effective from Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

He said the leadership is constrained to start the process having observed that the state is falling apart adding that the body language of government does not suit the purpose of mending the cracks.

According to him the  cracks cut across both formal and informal sector of the state economically, psychologically, physically and morally.

Comrade Saheed explained that

on  several occasions both Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade

Union Congress (TUC) have written government on demands of Workers and observed ills in the State.

He noted that till today there

was no change or attempt to address issues raised in the letters.
