 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. Local Government Elections Conducted Peacefully In Borno.

The Local Government Elections in Borno has been conducted Peacefully amidst low turnout of voters. 

Newsmen in Maiduguri who went round several polling units in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council and Jere observed that voting commenced in the morning at Lawan Asheikh 003 and Zannah Kazalma polling units in Shehuri South ward of the metropolis. 

However, there was large turn out of voters in Dalori, Wanori and Konduga town in Konduga local government. 

Security personnel were deployed to strategic locations to ensure a hitch-free poll.

The Chairman Borno State Independent Electoral Commission BOSIEC, Alhaji Lawan Maina said election would be conducted in all the twenty seven local government areas and three hundred and twelve wards across the state. 

He explained that voters from Guzamala, Abadam, Kala-Balge and Marte will vote in IDP camps in neighbouring towns of Nganzai, Damasak, Ngala and Monguno. 

Speaking to newsmen shortly after casting their votes, Senator representing Borno Central Kaka Shehu Lawan and Member representing Maiduguri in the House of representatives, Abdulkadir Rahis, commended the state electoral commission for the smooth conduct of the exercise. 

Deputy National Chairman North All Progressives Congress APC, Honourable Ali Dalori appreciated voters for their orderliness throughout the voting period. 

According to Report six political parties participated in the January 2024 local government elections.
