 LASG HOSTS Y2024 WOMEN'S ASSEMBLY TO EMPOWER, CELEBRATE WOMEN Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to advancing and empowering women, describing them as the pillars of communities, contributing in numerous ways as mothers, entrepreneurs, educators and leaders.  Governor Sanwo-Olu stated this in his keynote address at the 2024 Women's Assembly for Local Government and Local Council Development Areas organised by the Ministry of Women's Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) at the De Blue Roof, LTV 8 complex, Agindigbi Ikeja.  The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Governor, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, described the Assembly as a critical platform for celebrating women’s contributions and tackling challenges affecting their well-being.  Nigerian Lady Ihechiluru Ukwu calls out woman for telling her that her Size is now “Too Big” as a Pastors Daughter  


She wrote;


A Nigerian lady Ihechiluru Ukwu has called out a woman Nkechinyere Ogbonna for inboxing her and telling her that her size is now too big as a Pastors daughter.


“Yesterday while I was skipping under the freezing temperature, it wasn’t funny at all, I had to put on about three clothes, plus my hand gloves and all to be able to endure the cold for 30 minutes just because keeping fit and staying healthy has become part of me and I have done so well for my self in the last few years, dropped off some kgs and still going on, those who know me personally and have my WhatsApp contact can attest to the fact that I have been consistent even in the cold since we came here”


“I have never called out anyone on this platform but this one, I won’t let it slide”


“Now I open my Facebook messenger this morning just to see this message coming from someone.

This is is totally depressing. once in a while I get some of these messages and I over look them and let them pass but you see this one, I will not do so”


“I have endured enough, that I am a pastor’s child doesn’t mean I should keep endure these depressing words some of you use on us. You say all manner of things to pastor’s children and expect them to keep shut because if they respond, you will say they are rude. We are humans for God’s sake”


“This is 2024 and the national theme is “no gree for anyone” I have had enough, if you do not have nice words to say to me or my pictures pls waka pass, I will no longer tolerate these kind of words”

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
