 2027: BENUE GOVT TELLS APPOINTEES, DECLARE NOW OR STEP ASIDE 17th December, 2025   The Benue State Government has directed all political appointees seeking to contest elective offices to formally declare their intentions and tender their resignation letters. In a statement issued from the Office of the Deputy Governor, the directive follows the surge in political activities and growing expressions of interest in elective positions across the state. According to the notice, affected appointees are required to submit written expressions of interest for their preferred offices, alongside formal resignation letters, to the Office of the Deputy Governor on or before Thursday, December 18, 2025. The submissions will be transmitted to Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia for further consideration and necessary action.  Osimhen cleared for South Africa clash


Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has reportedly been cleared by the team’s medical staff for Wednesday’s semi-final clash against South Africa.

The Super Eagles travelled on Monday evening from Abidjan to Bouaké without star striker Victor Osimhen as a result of abdominal discomfort.

The team’s media officer, Babafemi Raji, who confirmed the incident, said the team doctors had placed him under close watch with a member of the medical team staying behind in Abidjan with him.

According to sources in Abidjan, Osimhen will join his teammates in Bouake after being declared fit and is expected to feature in the game

The Napoli striker has been an important part of the Eagles’ superb AFCON run so far starting all five matches in Côte d’Ivoire, scoring one goal and setting up Ademola Lookman against Cameroon.
