  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Oyo suspended traditional ruler over links to illegal miners – Commissioner


The Oyo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade has revealed the rationale behind the suspension of one of the traditional rulers in the state. 

The state governor had earlier announced the suspension of the Onido of Ido, Oba Gbolagade Muritala Babalola.

Oyelade in a statement issued on Friday, said that the traditional ruler was suspended over links with illegal miners in the state.

Oyelade noted that the state government will hit hard at anyone, no matter how highly placed, who contravenes the law.

He said the state government took the tough measure to send signals to those aiding and abetting criminals within the state that they are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Oyelade said, “In the light of our recent experience and government daily efforts to rid our land of criminals, we are sending the signal to all like-minded elements to vacate our zone or be caught and brought to justice.”
