 President Tinubu to Present 2026 Budget on Friday, December 19 President Bola Tinubu is set to present the 2026 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly on Friday, December 19, 2025. Ahead of the presentation, a formal communication from the Presidency will be read on the floor of the House of Representatives on Thursday, December 18, notifying lawmakers and staff of the President’s appearance. The notification follows a letter dated December 17, 2025, signed by Adm. Essien Eyo Essien, Secretary of Human Resources and Staff Development, on behalf of the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana. The letter was also copied to the Deputy Clerk and heads of departments. According to the letter, President Tinubu, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, will deliver the proposed 2026 budget at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.  Oyo suspended traditional ruler over links to illegal miners – Commissioner


The Oyo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade has revealed the rationale behind the suspension of one of the traditional rulers in the state. 

The state governor had earlier announced the suspension of the Onido of Ido, Oba Gbolagade Muritala Babalola.

Oyelade in a statement issued on Friday, said that the traditional ruler was suspended over links with illegal miners in the state.

Oyelade noted that the state government will hit hard at anyone, no matter how highly placed, who contravenes the law.

He said the state government took the tough measure to send signals to those aiding and abetting criminals within the state that they are in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Oyelade said, “In the light of our recent experience and government daily efforts to rid our land of criminals, we are sending the signal to all like-minded elements to vacate our zone or be caught and brought to justice.”
