 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  RIVERS HIGH COURT RESTRAINS POLICE FROM ARRESTING EDISION EHIE 



A Rivers State High court sitting in Port Harcourt has issues a restraining order against the Nigerian police from arresting Rt Hon  Ehie Edison 


Rt. Hon. Ehie is the Chief of Staff of the Rivers State governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara 


The presiding judge, Justice Sika Aprioku ruled that the pursuit of a case to arrest Rt, Hon Ehie was purely a politically motivated vendetta.


Justice Aprioku entertained the various presentations and arguments that were made by the Counsel for the applicant, D.O. Okoro, SAN, and C.M. Dickson, Esq. who represented the respondents.


The judge later ruled and dismissed the preliminary objection that was raised on the issue of jurisdiction because it lacked merit.


Justice Aprioku who said the respondents are restrained from arresting the applicant because the charges are only aimed at settling political scores, awarded the cost of One Hundred Thousand Naira (₦100,000) in favor of the applicant against the respondents.
