 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Wanted kidnap kingpin Buhari Muhammad, five others arrested in Abuja hotel


The police in the Federal Capital Territory have arrested suspected notorious kidnappers, one Buhari Muhammad, and five other members of the syndicate in Abuja.


FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said in a statement on Monday that the suspects were arrested in a hotel in Bassa village in Abuja.


The statement listed the five other suspects to include a wanted kidnapping kingpin, Muhammad Sabiu; Isah Abdullahi, Hamzat Musa, Fatima Abdullahi, and Zuliat Yusuf.


She alleged that the notorious kidnapping syndicate was behind the abduction of Joshua Eze, the husband of Blessing Eze, who suffered a bullet injury in the process of her husband’s abduction.


Recall that Joshua was kidnapped on January 27, 2024, but was rescued unhurt by police operatives of the command after 24 hours.


The PPRO confirmed that the arrest was made by the command’s operatives attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, dedicated to the fight against criminality in the FCT.


She added that one AK-47 rifle, 10 mobile phones, a cash sum of N345,000, and other valuables were recovered from the suspects.
