 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Yobe Gov declares Feb 7 work free day in honour of late Gov Bukar


Gov Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has declared Wednesday, Feb 7, a work free day to mark a three-day prayers for late former Governor of the state, Sen Bukar Abba Ibrahim.

Alhaji Mamman Mohammed,the Director General, Press and Media Affairs to the governor said this while addressing newsmen on Tuesday in Damaturu.

He said the day was set aside to offer prayers for the former governor who died in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

The three days prayers, according to him, would be offered at the Government House Mosque, Damaturu.

Mohammed said Yobe government had officially took over the funeral rites to honour the late governor.

He also explained that Gov Buni, in the company of government officials and the family of the late governor, has been receiving condolences from sympathisers from within and outside the state at the Government House, Damaturu.
