 TROOPS OF OPERATION WHIRL STROKE ARREST HIGH PROFILE CRIMINAL IN BENUE COMMUNITY Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE arrested a high-profile suspected criminal during an intelligence-driven operation in Agasha Village of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, following a report of an attack on a local resident. The operation was launched on 13 March 2026 after security agencies received credible information regarding an attack on Mr Shaapera Seeta Michael in Agasha Village. Acting swiftly on the report, troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Intervention Battalion XI deployed under Operation WHIRL STROKE mobilised immediately to the affected area to track down the suspect responsible for the assault. Upon arrival, the troops cordoned the area to prevent the suspect from escaping while conducting a targeted search operation aimed at identifying and apprehending the alleged attacker.  22 escape death in Lagos-Ibadan highway crash


No fewer than 22 persons narrowly escaped death in an auto crash in front of the Mountain Top University, Kara Ibafo area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Commission in the state, Florence Okpe, who confirmed the crash to our correspondent on Sunday, said the accident involved 17 males and five females.

Okpe added that the accidents occurred between two vehicles: a Toyota Highlander with registration number KSF 461DM, and an 18-seater bus marked AAA 859 XM.

She said the cause of the accident was a loss of control on the part of the Toyota Highlander’s driver, causing it to crash into the fully loaded bus.

The FRSC spokesperson added that nine individuals who sustained varying degrees of injury have been taken to AZ Zonecare Hospital in the Magboro area of the state.

However, Okpe appealed to motorists to always maintain a controllable speed to guard against negative occurrences.

“Apart from conducting routine checks every morning and whenever your car is about to move, always maintain a controllable speed in case of any eventuality.

“The nine injured persons in the accident comprising 17 males and five females, have all been taken to AZ Zonecare Hospital in the Magboro area of the state.”
