 LAWMA SEALS PREMISES ON AGO PALACE WAY, ARRESTS 11 DUMPERS ON LAGOS ISLAND … Intensifies Enforcement Against Illegal Waste Disposal In renewed enforcement efforts, the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has sealed premises identified for persistent illegal waste dumping along Ago Palace Way and arrested 11 persons for illegal waste disposal in various parts of Lagos Island. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said that the enforcement operations underscored the Authority’s resolve to enforce existing waste management regulations and ensure compliance with approved waste disposal practices across Lagos. He explained that the Ago Palace Way operation covered plazas, hotels, lounges and warehouses along the corridor, as part of efforts to tackle activities contributing to waste build-up and environmental nuisance on road setbacks, medians and other unauthorised public spaces. A TEACHER CONVICTED OF ATTEMPTING TO MURDER A 17-YEAR-OLD STUDENT AND DUMPING HER BODY, IS RELEASED EARLY FROM PRISON TODAY. (PHOTO).

 Freeburg, Illinois teacher convicted of attempting to murder a 17-year-old student, and dumping her body, is released early from prison today, 4/22/2024. 


42-year-old Sam Shelton was released from prison today. Shelton was convicted in 2006 after his 17-year-old victim was found clinging to life after a 30 hour search. He plead guilty and was sentenced to 20 years.


Shelton shouldn't be out of prison until 2027. 


Sam Shelton was Ashley Reeves grade school teacher in 2001. In 2006, the two began dating when Ashley was 17. Shelton was 26. Ashley stated that during the relationship he was violent to her. She got into his vehicle and tried to break up with him in 2006. Sam Shelton was infuriated. Shelton claims he accidentally broke her neck while strangling her. It was actually the belt that snapped but he thought it was her neck. He panicked and tried to suffocate her. When Ashley showed no signs of life he dumped her in bushes and took off from the scene. 


Shelton denied all allegations following an intense interrogation. After 12 hours, he admitted he did it. However, he just couldn't seem to remember which bushes he hid her in. She was found 30 hours later by officials. 


Ashley was relieved when he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for attempted murder. A victim advocacy group has announced his early release from prison. 


After the attack, Ashley had to learn how to swallow, talk, and use her upper body all over again. 


Our thoughts are with Ashley at this time. She is an amazing young woman who survived a very scary incident.
