 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Report suspicious activities during Eid-El-Fitr, DSS urges Nigerians


The Department of State Services has urged Nigerians to report suspicious activities during the Eid-El-Fitr celebration.


The service had on March 4, 2024, urged citizens to be vigilant against public dangers, especially Improvised Explosive Devices, urging Nigerians to stay informed about potential threats and avoid crowded or suspicious areas.


However, in a statement on Tuesday, the Director of PR and Strategic Communications, DSS, Peter Afunanya, assured Nigerians that the service would work in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure the security of the citizens during the festive period.


The statement read, “Similarly, everyone is advised to be security conscious as well as report suspicious activities to security and law enforcement organisations.
