 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  17-YEAR-OLD BENUE IDP SCORES 301 IN UTME RESULT

A 17-year-old boy taking refuge in an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Benue state has scored 301 in the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).


The boy, Aondona Terver, lives with his parents at the IDP camp at Daudu, Guma local government council of Benue state.


In the result released by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the 17-year-old Aondona with registration number 202440051584IF, scored 60 in English, 73 in Biology, 84 in Physics and Chemistry also 84 thus totaling 301.


The young man whose parents were displaced after their village in Guma was attacked and burnt down by terrorists now lives on the compassion of individuals and the occasional support of the Benue state government.


His parents said it is from the proceeds of charity at the IDP camp that Aondona who is a Science student attends the ECWA secondary school at North Bank in Makurdi.


The student said that his dream is to become a medical doctor so he chose medicine as his preferred course of study.
