 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. The Lagos Central Business District (CBD), has arrested and prosecuted a total of 833 vehicle drivers and 49 tricycles drivers in one year for flouting traffic rules.

This was disclosed by the Special Adviser on Central Business Districts, Bola Lawal on Monday at a ministerial press briefing at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre Alausa, Ikeja.

“A total of 833 vehicle drivers and 49 tricycle drivers were arrested and prosecuted accordingly for various traffic offences ranging from illegal parking, illegal U-turn, obstruction, one-way and obstruction of traffic” she said.

Lawal revealed that two CBD operatives were disciplined for extortion from motorists by outright dismissal.

She sympathized with victims of the fire outbreak at a section of the Idumota market area and assured that the government is at work and not sleeping on the incident.

“Again, I want to express my deepest sympathies to all those who have been affected by this tragedy. The government understands the pain and uncertainty that many of you are feeling right now and I want you to know that you are not alone

“The government is here to support you every step of the way as we rebuild and recover from this disaster” the special adviser stated.

“I want to assure you that the government is fully committed to ensuring the safety and integrity of our buildings in the affected area” she added.
