 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8.  WORKERS DAY: ANAMBRA POLICE SALUTE WORKERS ON LABOR DAY: APPRECIATE WORKERS FOR THEIR PERSEVERANCE IN PRESERVING NATIONAL UNITY

As the world celebrates workers on International Workers' Day,  the outgoing Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Police Command, CP Aderemi Adeoye has congratulated workers in the state for their hard work and invaluable efforts in the state.


The Anambra State Police Command, through its Spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, recognized workers for their diligence, loyalty, and especially their resilience in maintaining peace and rejecting illegal sit-at-home days and other actions that might jeopardize the state's harmony. This statement was made in a press release on Tuesday, April 30, highlighting Commissioner Adeoye's appreciation for workers' invaluable contributions to public safety and unity.


CP Adeoye urged the workers and residents to continue to uphold the law, remain vigilant, and offer support to the Police and other security agencies as they collaborate and synergize to combat all types of crime and guarantee public safety in Anambra State. He emphasized the importance of joint efforts in preserving peace and security in the state.
