 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. POLICE OFFICER PASSES AWAY IN THE LINE OF DUTY 18 YEARS AFTER HIS FATHER PASSED AWAY THE SAME WAY. (PHOTO).

 Arizona police officer passes away in the line of duty 18 years after his father passed away the same way.


24-year-old Josh Briese passed away Saturday morning after responding to a disturbance. As police responded, gunfire erupted striking Briese and another officer with Gila River PD. Four other people were also struck by the rounds including 23-year-old Alicen Apkaw, who also passed away as a result of her injuries. The other victims were treated for their injuries and are in stable condition.


After the deadly incident, the Gila River Indian Comunity Council suspended all dances. 


Officer Briese had been with the department for less than a year and half. He was following in the footsteps of his father who was also a law enforcement officer.


Sadly, his father Dave Briese also passed away in the line of duty. He was involved in a vehicle crash while responding to a call in November of 2006.


Our thoughts are with this family who have lost two loved ones in the service of others. We are also thinking of Alicen's family.
