Anambra to go after houses without proper drainage in order to combat Erosion  Worried by the rising menace of gully erosion, the Anambra State Government has threatened to enforce regulations requiring residents to provide proper drainage for storm water from their homes. The State Executive Council (ANSEC), which announced the proposed enforcement, lamented that erosion remains an existential challenge in Anambra, blaming the situation on careless actions by some communities and lapses by regulatory bodies in enforcing environmental laws. Briefing journalists after the weekly executive council meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, said it had been observed that some residents channel storm water from their homes directly onto roads, where it accumulates and worsens the erosion crisis across the state. “ANSEC has resolved to step up enforcement to compel residents to properly channel and manage storm water from their houses.  California man lost in forest for nearly 2 weeks is reunited with his family.

34-year-old Lukas McClish went for what he thought was a 3 hour hike on Tuesday, June 11th, in Boulder Creek park, CA. However at some point during his trek he became disoriented and become hopelessly lost.

No one in his family noticed his absence until Father's Day rolled around with no word from Lukas. They then became concerned and filed a missing person's report. The biggest challenge searchers faced was the fact that Lukas had not told anyone where he was going.

Lukas for his part spent his days drinking from creeks and foraging from berries while being shadowed by a mountain lion. He stated "he never felt threatened because it kept its distance and just seemed curious about him."

He also thought of food a lot and yelled for help to the seemingly empty forest surrounding him. He said that around the 5th day he started to think he was in over his head. He continued to persevere despite feeling doubts and kept himself alive, going forward and hoping.

Finally after roughing it for 10 days someone heard his cries for help and contacted 911. Boulder Creek Fire Department deployed a drone and locked down his location. They dispatched a K-9 who located and escorted Lukas out of the wilderness and back into the arms of his family.

Despite suffering a rough extended period of time lost in the woods Lukas managed to make it through his ordeal without suffering any injuries and relatively healthy. There are many hikers who get lost every year and are not so lucky, leaving grieving families behind. This is why you should always let someone know when you are hiking or any other types of excursions that take you to the remote areas of the world.
