 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. It has come to the attention of the member representing Aba North and Aba South Federal constituency, House Of Representatives, Hon. Alex Ikwechegh (Onyeocha n’Aba) that some dubious persons have been going around collecting money from the unsuspecting public in the guise of empowering such people.


 Hon. Ikwechegh wishes to state as follows:


1: He has never requested a dime from anyone for empowerment.


2: All his empowerment programmes have been fully funded by him at no cost to the beneficiaries.


3: Onyeocha n’Aba is using this medium to call on all Aba residents, businessmen, traders, market unions, cooperative societies to be on the lookout for such people and report to the Police for prompt action.


4: Hon. Ikwechegh is asking those who may have fallen victim to report to his constituency office, 59 Pounds Road by Georges, with evidence including the phone number of the scammers.
