 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. CRIME: Recovery of locally made fabricated revolver and foraying into flashpoints


The Bauchi State Police Command, under the stewardship of Commissioner of Police CP Auwal Muhammad Musa psc, Anipr, is committed to upholding the international best practicing policing standards, mandating all Area Commanders, DPOs, and other Strategic Tactical Commanders to conduct regular raids of blackspots across the State to bolster community confidence. This initiative has yielded positive results, exemplified bÿ a recent incident.


On the 17th of July, 2024 at about 0430hrs, operatives of the Command, led by DPO Alkaleri CSP Mohammed B. Usman, conducted a raid along Mai-ari-arewa axis, a recognized suspected black spot situated in Alkaleri LGA area of Bauchi State. A suspected group of hoodlums opened fire on sight, but our detectives gallantly and professionally repelled the attack, forcing the suspected hoodlums to scatter into nearby bushes, likely with serious injuries. Following the operation, the following prohibited firearms were recovered:


- One (1) locally made fabricated revolver

- One (1) cut-to-size Dane gun

- Three (3) rounds of cartridges were abandoned under the hollow of a tree by the suspected hoodlums.


A combined effort is ongoing to flush out unrepentant criminals who are attempting to disrupt the peace in the State. Meanwhile, sustained aggressive raiding of criminal hideouts will be intensified simultaneously.
