 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta.  Kenya human right puts anti-tax protest death toll at 59


Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), says 50 people have so far been killed and 413 injured in anti-government protests, 59 others abducted or missing with 682 arrested.


At least one person was killed in renewed anti-government protests across Kenya on Tuesday.


Activists say they want Ruto to resign and are calling for systemic changes to clean up corruption and address poor governance.


In Nairobi's city centre, riot police fired tear gas at several dozen protesters and medics were seen carrying away an injured person on a stretcher. In Nakuru, a journalist was shot, with  television footage showing her bleeding from her thigh.


Njeri Wa Migwi, an activist who was protesting in downtown Nairobi, said the demonstration was entirely peaceful until police started firing tear gas.
