 LAGOS LAW REFORM COMMISSION ENGAGES TOURISM, AGRICULTURE MINISTRIES ON SECTORAL LAW REFORMS The Lagos State Law Reform Commission recently held consultative engagements with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems as part of ongoing efforts to review, modernise and harmonise sectoral laws for improved governance, institutional efficiency and sustainable development in Lagos State. The engagement with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture was initiated and led by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Oluyemisi Ogunlola.  The delegation was received by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Princess Adebopo Oyekan-Ismaila, alongside relevant departmental and agency representatives. Man caught trading human parts for N600k in Abuja


The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a man for allegedly trading human parts in Abuja.


Nuhu Ezra, a resident of Gosa Kipikipi village, Lugbe, was caught with a human skull and bones on July 9, 2024, at about 9:00 p.m. by operatives from the Iddo police division.


According to the police, Ezra was found with the human remains while hunting in Kuje and intended to sell them for N600,000.


The police public relations officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the arrest and urged residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.


“The suspect, Nuhu Ezra, stated that he picked up the human skull and bones from the bush while hunting in Kuje. He intended to sell them for six hundred thousand naira (N600,000),” she stated.


The Commissioner of Police, FCT,  Benneth Igweh, has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter to ascertain the source of the human parts, the intended buyer, and how long Ezra has been involved in the alleged business.


The suspect is currently in police custody and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.


This development came as a shock to residents of Abuja, who have expressed concern over the increasing cases of criminal activity in the city.


But, the police have assured the public of their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
