 Recording Academy adds five new Grammy categories, updates rules for 2026 awards NEW YORK - The Recording Academy is introducing five new categories and making several rule changes for the 2026 Grammy Awards in an effort to reflect the evolving global music landscape. Among the new additions is a best Asian pop music performance category, which will honor performances across genres such as K-pop, J-pop, C-pop and other Asian pop styles, with the award going to performers. A new best traditional pop vocal performance category will recognize artists whose work does not fit within modern pop styles. A best Latin song category will spotlight songwriters for Spanish-language Latin recordings. Changes are also coming to existing categories in R&B and folk music. The academy is adding a best R&B collaboration or duo/group performance category alongside a revised best R&B solo performance award. Man caught trading human parts for N600k in Abuja


The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a man for allegedly trading human parts in Abuja.


Nuhu Ezra, a resident of Gosa Kipikipi village, Lugbe, was caught with a human skull and bones on July 9, 2024, at about 9:00 p.m. by operatives from the Iddo police division.


According to the police, Ezra was found with the human remains while hunting in Kuje and intended to sell them for N600,000.


The police public relations officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the arrest and urged residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.


“The suspect, Nuhu Ezra, stated that he picked up the human skull and bones from the bush while hunting in Kuje. He intended to sell them for six hundred thousand naira (N600,000),” she stated.


The Commissioner of Police, FCT,  Benneth Igweh, has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter to ascertain the source of the human parts, the intended buyer, and how long Ezra has been involved in the alleged business.


The suspect is currently in police custody and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.


This development came as a shock to residents of Abuja, who have expressed concern over the increasing cases of criminal activity in the city.


But, the police have assured the public of their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
