 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Israeli strikes hit Lebanon as mediators push Gaza truce


Israeli airstrikes targeted Lebanon and Gaza on Saturday, resulting in significant casualties, as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken returned to Israel in an effort to finalize a Gaza truce agreement. Diplomats believe that reaching such an agreement could prevent a broader regional conflict.


In Lebanon, an Israeli airstrike in the southern region claimed the lives of 10 people, including a Syrian woman and her two children, according to a statement from Lebanon’s health ministry. The ministry described the strike as one of the deadliest in southern Lebanon since the near-daily clashes between Israel and Hezbollah began following the outbreak of the Gaza conflict in October.


Israel’s military confirmed the strike, stating that it targeted a Hezbollah weapons storage facility in southern Lebanon. A spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces said, “We carried out an operation against a Hezbollah weapons depot in response to ongoing threats from the group.” The escalating violence has intensified concerns about a potential wider regional escalation.
