 Senate confirms Fani-Kayode, Reno Omokri, 62 others as ambassadors The Senate on Thursday confirmed 64 ambassadorial nominees of President Bola Tinubu, including a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, and a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri. The confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of a report by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, which said all the nominees were screened and found suitable for appointment. The exercise came 48 hours after the upper chamber confirmed three non-career ambassadorial nominees — Lateef Kayode Are (Ogun State), Aminu Dalhatu (Jigawa State), and Emmanuel Ayodele Oke (Oyo State)—bringing the total number of confirmed ambassadors to 67. Among those cleared on Thursday were a former Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau; a former Special Adviser on New Media to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri; a former presidential aide, Ita Enang; and a former senator, Grace Bent.  Kaduna Police Arrest Suspects In Connection With Cattle Rustling, Kidnapping, Gunrunning


The Kaduna State Police Command has announced the arrest of several individuals in connection with various criminal activities in the state.


According to the police, two individuals, Aminu Saleh and Jafar Ibrahim, were arrested for cattle rustling in the Kasuwa Magani area of Kujama.


In a separate incident, three suspects - Umar Baso, Shehu Filani, and Babangida Abdulkarim - were apprehended for attempting to kidnap someone and demanding a ransom of N10 million.


Additionally, two suspects, Dahiru Liman and Sani Abdullahi Makeri, were arrested for allegedly supplying arms and ammunition to kidnappers operating in Kaduna, Katsina, and Zamfara states. A fabricated AK-47 rifle and five rounds of 9mm live ammunition were recovered during the operation.


The Commissioner of Police, Audu Ali Dabigi, commended the operatives for their efforts and urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities. 


He said the police are committed to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens in the state.
