 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Police Exhume Bodies of Kidnapped Marine Hunters in Akwa Ibom



The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has exhumed the bodies of marine hunters from the Ministry of Internal Security and Inland Waterways who were kidnapped, murdered, and buried by notorious criminals in Unyenghe, Mbo Local Government Area. The command’s spokesperson, Timfon John, disclosed on Friday that the bodies were discovered in shallow graves after the police received information about the crime. “The command’s operatives, upon getting the information, embarked on a hot chase of the suspects and arrested the following suspects: Anthony Archibong, Emmanuel Emmanuel Otoyo, Daniel Edet Okon, Eniete Harry Tom, and Joseph Okon,” John said.


The police also arrested the Village Head of Utit Antai, Chief Okon Asuquo Eteokpo, who was allegedly providing spiritual fortification for the suspects. John added, "Chief Okon Asuquo Eteokpo, said to be their ally and spiritual fortifier, was arrested alongside the suspects, and a total of 15 live cartridges were recovered from them." According to the police statement, the bodies were found after hours of intensive searching by a combined team from the command, with the corpses buried in shallow graves and their heads dismembered.


The Akwa Ibom State Police Command reassured the public of its commitment to eradicating crime in the state. The statement urged residents to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station. “The command has again reassured members of the public of their intentional determination to rid the State of crime and criminal elements," John emphasized.
