  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. ENHANCED SECURITY MEASURES IMPLEMENTED AHEAD OF NIGERIA'S 64TH INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION


The Bauchi State Police Command, under the stewardship of  Commissioner of Police CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, psc, Anipr, has implemented rigorous security measures to ensure a peaceful and secure celebration of Nigeria's 64th Independence Anniversary.


In accordance with the directives of the 22nd Indigenous Inspector General of Police Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD., NPM, CP MM AUWAL convened a crucial meeting at the State Headquarters with Heads of Departments, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs). The focus of the meeting was to emphasize the effective deployment of human and tactical resources across the state to maintain law and order, especially in key public spaces.


The CP has instructed all deployed officers to maintain vigilance, professionalism, and courtesy in their interactions with the public. Furthermore, a directive has been issued to crack down on any individuals attempting to disrupt the peace or engage in unlawful activities during the celebration.


CP MM Auwal extends his sincere congratulations to the residents of Bauchi and all Nigerians on this significant occasion, encouraging citizens to reflect on the nation’s progress, honour the efforts of past leaders, and contribute to fostering unity and peaceful coexistence.


The Bauchi State Police Command reaffirms its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property during the Independence celebrations and beyond.
