 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. ENHANCED SECURITY MEASURES IMPLEMENTED AHEAD OF NIGERIA'S 64TH INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION


The Bauchi State Police Command, under the stewardship of  Commissioner of Police CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, psc, Anipr, has implemented rigorous security measures to ensure a peaceful and secure celebration of Nigeria's 64th Independence Anniversary.


In accordance with the directives of the 22nd Indigenous Inspector General of Police Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD., NPM, CP MM AUWAL convened a crucial meeting at the State Headquarters with Heads of Departments, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs). The focus of the meeting was to emphasize the effective deployment of human and tactical resources across the state to maintain law and order, especially in key public spaces.


The CP has instructed all deployed officers to maintain vigilance, professionalism, and courtesy in their interactions with the public. Furthermore, a directive has been issued to crack down on any individuals attempting to disrupt the peace or engage in unlawful activities during the celebration.


CP MM Auwal extends his sincere congratulations to the residents of Bauchi and all Nigerians on this significant occasion, encouraging citizens to reflect on the nation’s progress, honour the efforts of past leaders, and contribute to fostering unity and peaceful coexistence.


The Bauchi State Police Command reaffirms its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property during the Independence celebrations and beyond.
