 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Police Arrest Three Suspects in Connection with Hijacking, Murder, and Unlicensed Firearms


On Sunday, September 15, 2024, police arrested three suspects at Phokoane village in the Nebo policing area for their alleged involvement in murder, hijacking, and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.


The arrests followed an incident where members of the Nebo and Jane Furse Tracking Team spotted a suspicious white Toyota with four occupants while tracing wanted suspects. As they approached the vehicle, the suspects opened fire, prompting the police to retaliate. Two suspects were shot, one fatally, while the other was taken to a local hospital with injuries. Two additional suspects were apprehended.


Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle, driven by the suspects, was reported hijacked in September 2024 in the Nebo policing area.


The suspects are scheduled to appear before the Nebo Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
