 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting. TRAFFIC ADVISORY: PASSING OUT PARADE OF 6TH REGULAR CADETS AT NIGERIA POLICE ACADEMY WUDIL


The Kano State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Salman Dogo Garba, wishes to inform the public, particularly motorists plying the Kano-Wudil road, of an upcoming Passing Out Parade (POP) at the Nigeria Police Academy Wudil, Kano, on Saturday, 7th September 2024.


2.  EVENT DETAILS:


- Date: Saturday, 7th September 2024

- Time: 0700hrs - 1400hrs

- Venue: Nigeria Police Academy Wudil, Kano (Parade Ground)


3.  TRAFFIC ADVISORY:


Due to the expected dignitaries and crowds, motorists and road users are advised to:


- Exercise patience and caution

- Avoid reckless and dangerous driving

- Refrain from over-speeding

- Observe all traffic rules and regulations

- Consider alternative routes between 0700hrs and 1400hrs


4.  TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT:


To ensure a smooth traffic flow, traffic personnel will be deployed at strategic locations within the State.
