Tanzania closes Nduta camp housing thousands of Burundi refugees Tanzania has closed a camp housing thousands of Burundian refugees and repatriated all but a handful, activists and the United Nations said. Burundian refugees have complained in recent months of being forcibly evicted from the Nduta camp in northwestern Tanzania, following a deal between the governments in Dar Es Salaam and Bujumbura to repatriate around 100,000 of them by June. As of late 2025, there were an estimated 142,000 Burundian refugees housed in two Tanzanian camps - Nduta and Nyarugusu, according to the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR). "The approximately 3,000 refugees who remained in the (Nduta) camp were forcibly loaded onto vehicles to be sent back to Burundi on Thursday," the Coalition for Human Rights/Living in Refugee Camps (CDH/VICAR) said, AFP reported. Father of Georgia School Shooter Charged with Murder for Allowing Son to Access Weapon

A 54-year-old father in Georgia, Colin Gray, has been charged with multiple counts of murder and manslaughter following his son's involvement in a deadly school shooting. Gray faces four charges of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty to children. The charges, announced Thursday evening, are directly tied to his alleged role in allowing his 14-year-old son, Colt Gray, to possess the weapon used in the tragic attack at Apalachee High School, which left two teachers and two students dead.

Colt Gray, who is being charged as an adult, is accused of fatally shooting four people during the attack on Wednesday in Winder, Georgia, located near Atlanta. State law permits minors aged 13 and above to be prosecuted as adults for certain crimes, exposing the teen to more severe consequences if convicted. Investigators are looking into whether Colin Gray purchased the AR-style weapon as a gift for his son in December 2023, which was later used in the shooting. Authorities had previously been alerted by the FBI in May 2023 to online threats involving the teen, but his father assured them that his son had no unsupervised access to guns.

The incident has reignited debates about parental responsibility in school shootings, with Colin Gray’s charges marking one of the most severe cases of a parent being held accountable. The sheriff of Barrow County, Jud Smith, confirmed that nine additional victims were injured in the shooting but are expected to make full recoveries. This case follows a similar legal precedent set in Michigan earlier this year, when the parents of another teenage shooter were sentenced to prison for their role in facilitating their son’s deadly attack.
