 INDEPENDENT CORRUPT PRACTICES AND OTHER RELATED OFFENCES COMMISSION (ICPC) Tuesday 16th December, 2025 MEDIA RELEASE The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) writes to confirm that it received a formal petition today Tuesday 16th December, 2025 from Alhaji Aliko Dangote through his lawyer. A 24-YEAR-OLD UNCLE RAPES HIS 5-YEAR-OLD NIECE. (PHOTO).


 A 24-year-old male accused was convicted and sentenced by Polokwane High Court for rape and child ponography on Thursday, 10 October 2024.


The Polokwane High Court noted that, in January 2023, the accused who is the victim’s uncle, residing with her discovered the child sleeping in his room and started to rape her.


After raping his 5-year-old nience, the accused uncle would take pictures and records his private parts and his sexual assault on the victim and keep them.


His girlfriend disclosed the pictures and recordings to the preschool teacher, who reported the incident to the SAPS and the child’s mother.


The docket was transferred to Seshego Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offenses Unit for further investigations. Warrant Officer Robert Tsiri is the one who investigated the case.


The accused was arrested the following day for rape and child pornography sexual offence related. The accused applied for bail, and the investigating Officer, Warrant Officer Robert Tsiri, opposed bail.


The accused remained in custody until he was convicted and sentenced on Thursday, 10 October 2024, as follows:


Count 1: Rape: 22 years imprisonment

Count 2: Child ponography sexual offenses related cases: 7 years imprisonment.


The sentences will run concurrently.


The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe , has welcomed the sentencing and applauded the investigating officer and his team for their sterling job that resulted in the conviction of the accused.
