 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1. The Edo Command, in response to a complaint on X formerly Twitter where some Police men extorted the complainant  of the sum of Three Hundred and Eighty Thousand (#380, 000) along Agbede road, has identified the erring Police men attached to Operation Wabaizigan 012 as:


1. AP/No. 95636 DSP Madaki Abdulwahab (Team Leader) 


2. AP/No. 308947 Insp Arikpo Vincent; and


3. AP/No. 345619 Insp Oboh Sunday


The money have been recovered and returned to the owner. While, the DSP has been queried and the two Inspectors of Police are facing orderly room trial for their unprofessional conduct. 


The Command frowns at this unwholesome practice and would stop at nothing to ensure that they are punished so as to serve as deterrent to other Police men in the Command.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
