 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  GOV. ODODO UPGRADES TER TIV OF KOGI STATE TO THIRD-CLASS CHIEF

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved the upgrading of the Ter Tiv Kogi State, Chief Moses Vor, to third-class status in a move to strengthen the relationship between Kogi and Benue states.


This development was announced during a visit by stakeholders, youths, and women groups from the Tiv community to the Government House in Lokoja on Thursday.


Governor Ododo expressed appreciation for the Tiv community’s unwavering support and peaceful coexistence, acknowledging their impressive turnout during the last election in support of the All Progressives Congress. He pledged to appoint Tiv indigenes to his cabinet, fostering confidence that Kogi is home to all


The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aliyu Umar, praised the governor for granting the audience, emphasizing the Tiv people’s peaceful nature and contributions to the state’s socio-economic development. He advocated for equal opportunities for the Tiv community to participate in the state’s growth without fear or favor.


Chief Moses Vor, the Ter Tiv and Chairman Traditional Council of Tiv Kogi State, congratulated Governor Ododo on his supreme court victory and reassured him of their unwavering support.


Chief Vor commended the governor’s achievements, particularly the approval of a N72,500 minimum wage, making him the best-performing governor in the northern region.


The event culminated in the presentation of traditional Tiv attire to Governor Ododo by the Tiv people resident in Kogi State, symbolizing their appreciation and solidarity.
