 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Hardship: Nigerian Govt, NLC, TUC meet over fuel price, others


A delegation of the Nigerian government, on Wednesday, met with leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC.


The meeting which, convened by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume, is centred around the state of the nation, especially petrol pricing and its consequences.


At the meeting were Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, NSA; Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Labour Minister; Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.


Others are Alhaji Mohammed Idris, Information Minister; Heineken Lokpobiri, Petroleum Minister, State; Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), and representatives of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Limited, Vanguard reports.


This is coming amid the adjustment of NNPCL pump price of fuel from N897 per litre to N1,030 in Abuja, and from N855 to N998 in Lagos.
