 INDEPENDENT CORRUPT PRACTICES AND OTHER RELATED OFFENCES COMMISSION (ICPC) Tuesday 16th December, 2025 MEDIA RELEASE The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) writes to confirm that it received a formal petition today Tuesday 16th December, 2025 from Alhaji Aliko Dangote through his lawyer. INDIA: ACTRESS 'JIYA DEKA' KIDNAPPED IN THE PRESENCE OF HER HUSBAND. (PHOTO).

In a shocking turn of events, an Assamese actress, identified as Jiya Deka, was abducted by a group of men near the Radisson Blu hotel in Guwahati’s Gotanagar locality on National Highway 27. The incident took place in broad daylight, sparking concerns about the safety of women in the city.


According to reports, the abduction occurred in the presence of Deka’s husband, who tried to intervene but was overpowered by the assailants. A group of 4-5 unidentified men allegedly forced the actress into a car with registration number AS 22 Y 9596 before speeding away from the scene. 


Family members who witnessed the crime made frantic attempts to rescue Jiya Deka. They pursued the abductors but were ultimately unable to stop them. One relative shared that during their chase, the assailants struck their vehicle, forcing them to halt while the kidnappers fled.


The incident has sent shockwaves across the region, with many awaiting further details from the police. An investigation is reportedly underway to trace the whereabouts of the abducted actress and identify the culprits responsible for the crime.
