M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration.  Lagos crackdown at Obanikoro Bus Stop: Eight arrested in drug bust

In a swift response to growing security concerns, operatives from the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) have arrested eight miscreants during a major clearance operation at Obanikoro Bus Stop.

Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab in an X post on Friday said this action followed a report made by a concerned citizen, Omotayo Ajadi, who highlighted increasing miscreant activity in the area.

The enforcement exercise, carried out in conjunction with the Lagos State government’s ongoing Zero Tolerance initiative, led to the arrest of eight individuals allegedly in possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other hard drugs.

Wahab said the government has since profiled the suspects and intended to pursue charges under Lagos State laws related to drug possession and public safety.

The operation underscores the state’s commitment to improving security and maintaining a clean, safe environment for residents and commuters.
