LeBron James and Son Bronny Make NBA History Together
LeBron James and his son, Bronny, made history by playing together for the Los Angeles Lakers in their season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves. They became the first father and son to appear in the NBA at the same time, both coming off the bench with four minutes left in the first half.
Bronny, 20, grabbed an offensive rebound during his brief debut, spending just over two minutes on the court with his father before sitting back down. Baseball legends Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr., who also played together for the Seattle Mariners in 1990, were at the game to honor the moment.
LeBron, 39, tied Vince Carter’s record by playing in his 22nd NBA season, scoring 16 points. Anthony Davis added 36 points and 16 rebounds, leading the Lakers to a 110-103 win. This was their first season opener victory since 2016, and also coach JJ Redick’s first win.
LeBron shared his joy with ESPN, saying that playing with Bronny was one of the greatest moments of his life. Bronny described it as a "crazy moment" he will never forget.
