 STAEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   PRESIDENT TINUBU: WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUSTAIN BUHARI'S LEGACIES.   President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday in Abuja, stated that his administration will continue to honour former President Muhammadu Buhari by sustaining his legacies of purposeful leadership, discipline, integrity, and the belief that public office is a trust, not a windfall.   President Tinubu made this commitment at the State House Conference Centre during the unveiling and public presentation of the book, *From Soldier to Statesman – The Legacy of Muhammadu Buhari*, authored by Dr Charles Omole.   He said the book offers Nigerians the opportunity to learn from President Buhari, and affirmed that the greatest honour to bestow on the late President is to sustain his legacies.   "This book reinforces the public memory. MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR RAPING A TEENAGER AT XIKUNDU VILLAGE OUTSIDE MALAMULELE IN LIMPOPO. (PHOTO).

 It is reported that Hlamulo Nicolas Mabasa (34) was found guilty of raping a 19-year-old girl in the bushes of Xikundu Xifaxani and Xikundu villages in 2020.


The victim was at the main road waiting for transport to her home when the accused known to her emerged. He advised her to move from where she was waiting because it was not a safe spot.


She then moved and walked with him. While on the way to a ‘safer spot,’ the accused suddenly demanded to have sexual intercourse with her. The victim refused. Subsequently, the accused assaulted her, produced a knife, and threatened to kill her. Thereafter, he raped her.


She managed to escape and ran to the road where she got transport from another man who offered her a place to sleep. The following day, she went home, and the incident was reported to the police.


The case was investigated by Sergeant Sydwell Hasani Chauke of Giyani Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS), and the suspect was arrested few days following thorough investigations.
