 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR RAPING A TEENAGER AT XIKUNDU VILLAGE OUTSIDE MALAMULELE IN LIMPOPO. (PHOTO).

 It is reported that Hlamulo Nicolas Mabasa (34) was found guilty of raping a 19-year-old girl in the bushes of Xikundu Xifaxani and Xikundu villages in 2020.


The victim was at the main road waiting for transport to her home when the accused known to her emerged. He advised her to move from where she was waiting because it was not a safe spot.


She then moved and walked with him. While on the way to a ‘safer spot,’ the accused suddenly demanded to have sexual intercourse with her. The victim refused. Subsequently, the accused assaulted her, produced a knife, and threatened to kill her. Thereafter, he raped her.


She managed to escape and ran to the road where she got transport from another man who offered her a place to sleep. The following day, she went home, and the incident was reported to the police.


The case was investigated by Sergeant Sydwell Hasani Chauke of Giyani Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS), and the suspect was arrested few days following thorough investigations.
