 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Saraki Turbaned as New Magaji of Agoro Compound


In a dignified ceremony, Alh. Muhammad Mustapha Muktar Saraki Agoro was officially turbaned as the new Magaji of Agoro Compound, Agbaji, Ilorin.


The event, held at Agbaji Mosque, was attended by prominent Islamic scholars, community leaders, and dignitaries.


 Renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Alhaji Rareem Baba Lagbaji, in his sermon, emphasized the importance of leadership, humility, and community service.


He urged the new Magaji to lead with integrity, wisdom, and compassion, citing the teachings of the Holy Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).


The newly turbaned Magaji, Alh. Muhammad expressed gratitude to the community and promised to work tirelessly for the development and well-being of Agoro Compound.


He promised to uphold the values of justice, fairness, and unity, ensuring that Agoro Compound remains a symbol of peace and harmony.
