NEW JERSEY TEACHER HAILED AS A HERO AFTER USING HER OWN BODY TO SHIELD A STUDENT SUFFERING A VISCOUS ATTACK. (PHOTO).

New Jersey teacher hailed as a hero after using her own body to shield a student suffering a viscous attack.

As 56-year-old special education teacher Cathy Hurley walked to her car after work on Tuesday, October 22nd, she noticed a group of teens rushing past her. She grew concerned and decided to follow them.

Cathy's worst fears were realized when she witnessed the group throwing a teen to the ground as they began to seriously physically attack him.

Cathy was worried about physically intervening and began screaming to stop. She had also called the police. When the group of assailants paid her no heed, she became desperate to stop the attack. That's when this heroic teacher decided to sacrifice her own safety. She threw herself over the teen to shield him from the blows he was receiving.

The teens immediately stopped the attack and fled the scene. They were all later apprehended and charged in the attack.

Shemin School Administration commended her bravery in a letter to the staff stating, "Her dedication to our students, her motherly instincts and her 'Hudson County fearlessness' tie for a close second to her kind and compassionate heart".

Great job, Cathy. The world needs more teachers and people like you. We are happy you weren't hurt.
